PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University men's soccer team will play the first of four consecutive road games on Wednesday, when the Explorers visit Lafayette for a 7 p.m. matchup in Easton, Pa.
LAST TIME OUT
- La Salle was stunned by Rider, 1-0, on Saturday on a last-minute goal.
- Senior goalkeeper Cameron Keys made three saves and kept the Broncs quiet for most of the night.
- Rider broke the scoreless tie in the 88th minute with the game-winning header.
- The Broncs had a 7-4 shot advantage, and graduate student Mike Liska recorded the one shot on goal for the Explorers.
SCOUTING THE LEOPARDS
- Lafayette stands at 3-2-0 overall, but is 0-2-0 at home thus far this season.
- The Leopards fell to Cornell, 2-1, in extra time at home on Friday. James Gibson scored the opening goal before the Leopards' lead slipped away.
- Prior to that, Lafayette had won three in a row with wins at Monmouth, Stony Brook and Siena.
- Both the Leopards and Explorers have played St. Francis Brooklyn, with both teams suffering defeat to the Terriers.
- Gibson leads the team with four goals, including two game-winners, while Ryan Goncalves has three assists to his credit.
- In net, Alex Sutton has played every minute and has been strong with a 0.78 goals against average and a .778 save percentage.
