KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After starting the season with two wins, the La Salle University men's soccer team is ranked 14th in the TopDrawerSoccer Men's DI Top 25 this week. La Salle is also receiving votes in this week's United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division 1 National Poll, the organization revealed on Tuesday.
The Explorers were one of two Atlantic 10 Conference teams ranked by TopDrawerSoccer, joining Fordham, and received 12 votes in the United Soccer Coaches poll. It is the second time in the three seasons under head coach
Rob Irvine in which La Salle has started the season with a 2-0 record. La Salle opened the year with a 2-1 home victory over Howard last Tuesday, scoring twice in the second half to surge to victory. The Explorers then jumped out to an early lead and hung on to defeat Iona on the road, 2-1, on Saturday.
Irvine's squad returns home for two games this week, hosting St. Francis Brooklyn on Wednesday and Rider on Saturday, both with 7 p.m. start times.
