BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The La Salle women's golf team finished its fall season on Tuesday at the 2019 Lehigh Invitational. Day two of the tournament consisted of 18 holes. The Explorers improved eight strokes in day two from their round one total with a 734 (+158) to finish 9
th of 10.
ABOUT THE LEHIGH INVITATIONAL:
- A total of 10 teams are competing in the 2019 Lehigh Invitational at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa.
- 55 golfers are in the field at the par 72 course, which totals 6,012 yards.
- Each team's top four scorers count toward the team's score.
- The event is split into two days with 18 holes on each day.
LA SALLE SCORECARD:
- Senior Marybelle Daclan finished atop the Explorers' scorecard with a 169 (+25), after she improved her round two score by three strokes.
- Junior Franca Hurtado was next on the team with a 172 (+28).
- Sophomore Grace Hickey slashed four strokes from her score on day two for a total of 180 (+36).
- Senior Mary Eyde also carded a lower score on day two. Eyde cut five strokes to give her a score of 213 (+69).
- Senior Bella Ritzel rounded out La Salle's scores with a 113 on day two. That's nine strokes better than her round one score to finish at 235 (+91).
THE FIELD:
- St. John's claimed the team title with a 615 (+39), including a tournament best 302 in round two.
- The Red Storm's Kaitleen Shee took the individual crown with a birdie on the first playoff hole to top Quinnipiac's Queenie Lai. Shee carded a 75 and 77 for a tournament best 152 (+8).
