NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Freshman goalkeeper Carlos Mora of the La Salle University men's soccer team was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Monday. It is his second time earning the honor this season.
 
Mora recorded his second shutout of the season in Wednesday's 2-0 win at George Mason. He matched his season high with five saves, improving to 3-1-1 in goal, and logged 106 scoreless minutes in net for the week.
 
In his first collegiate season, the Ontinyent, Spain, native has been efficient over eight games and five starts. Mora has a 1.04 goals against average over 518+ minutes and has 16 saves to go with his two clean sheets.
 
He was previously named A-10 Rookie of the Week and Soccer Six Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 30 following a shutout in his La Salle debut. Mora and the Explorers will try to lock up a postseason spot when they conclude the regular season at St. Bonaventure Saturday.
