PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University baseball team announced its schedule for the 2020 season on Wednesday. The Explorers have a 56-game slate on the calendar, including 24 home games at the newly resurfaced Hank DeVincent Field.
 
La Salle will kick off the year at Furman on Friday, Feb. 14, the first of a three-game weekend series in South Carolina. The following weekend, the Explorers will host Hofstra for three games in its home-opening series, starting with a Saturday doubleheader on Feb. 22.
 
A round-robin tournament down at Wake Forest will follow, as the Explorers take on Wake Forest, Sacred Heart and Brown Feb. 28-March 1. After that, La Salle will play five road games at Delaware State (March 4), at Wofford (March 6-8) and at Rider (March 10).
 
The Explorers will have five consecutive home games in the middle of March with a three-game series against Wagner (March 13-15) and mid-week contests against Delaware State (March 17) and Penn (March 18).
 
Atlantic 10 play will start for La Salle with a trip to Richmond for a three-game set March 20-22. The Explorers will then return home for a March 24 meeting with Delaware before hosting St. Bonaventure for three A-10 games March 27-29. Wrapping up the month of March will be a home game against Big 5 rival Penn on the 31st.
 
La Salle will play at UMBC on the first of April and then welcomes George Washington to The Hank for three games April 3-5. The Liberty Bell Classic game will be April 7, followed by a home meeting with Coppin State the next day. Then La Salle will have an eight-game road swing at Rhode Island (April 10-12), at Villanova (April 14), at Penn (April 15) and at Seton Hall (April 17-19).
 
Returning home, the Explorers will host Lehigh on April 22 and Fordham for three April 24-26. After mid-week road games at Delaware State (April 28) and Coppin State (April 29), La Salle will visit George Mason for three games May 1-3. The Explorers will wrap up their home schedule against rival Saint Joseph's May 8-10 and will conclude the regular season at Saint Louis May 14-16. The Atlantic 10 Championship will be May 20-23 in Richmond, Va.
 
La Salle won 25 games in 2019 Under head coach David Miller, who enters his third season at the helm, an improvement of 11 wins from the previous season and the fourth most in program history.
