PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad - Freshman Ibrahim Kedir of the La Salle University men's cross country and track teams will represent his home country of Canada on Saturday at the 2019 North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC) Championships at Queen's Park Savannah in Trinidad and Tobago.

Kedir will be racing for Team Canada in the Men's U-20 8K Championship. He qualified for the competition by placing fourth among 104 finishers in the U-20 event at the Canadian National Cross Country Championships back in November. Kedir finished the 8K course in 24:58.9 to earn a spot on the squad.

The Toronto native had an exceptional cross country season for the Explorers, earning Atlantic 10 Conference Outstanding Rookie Performer accolades. Kedir was La Salle's top finisher in three races this fall, highlighted by a fourth place showing in his A-10 Championship debut.
