RADFORD, Va. – Women's lacrosse goes up against Radford for the first time in team history on Tuesday. The Highlanders, a young program that debuted in 2016, are coming off a campaign where they tied a single-season-best record by going 6-11. This year they've started 1-3 and haven't eclipsed the ten-goal mark in a game since February 16, while La Salle has tallied double digits in two consecutive contests. First draw is at noon.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
- Ready for conference play: since 2012, La Salle is 5-2 in their last non-conference game of the season. In that time they've outscored opponents 83-71 and equaled/eclipsed 10 goals in every game.
- In their last away game, La Salle took Marist down to the wire before falling 12-11. Sophomores Bridget Ruskey and Maddie Dachowski led the way with three goals each, while sophomore Emily Johnston added two.
- Those three have combined for 35 of the Explorers 55 goals this season. Dachowski and Ruskey are locked at 14 each, while Johnston follows with seven.
- Ruskey leads the Explorers with 17 draw controls on the season with Johnston in second at 15. The latter is first for La Salle in caused turnovers with nine.
- Sophomore Molly Loughlin had a big week against Temple and Marist, keeping the Explorers in both games with 35 saves overall. On the season, she has kept out 61 shots with a 50.4% save percentage.
SCOUTING RADFORD
- The Highlanders began the season 1-0, but have since hit a three-game losing streak. They most recently fell to Mount St. Mary's 13-5 on March 9th.
- Junior Lindsey Carroll paces Radford with 13 points (10 goals, three assists). She is followed by two Highlanders on nine points.
- In net, freshman Maddie Bowman has often gotten the nod, playing 137 of a possible 240 minutes. She has recorded 21 saves on 57 shots faced for a save percentage of 36.8%.
