AARHUS, Denmark - Freshman
Ibrahim Kedir of the La Salle University men's cross country and track and field teams represented Team Canada at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships over the weekend.
Kedir finished 75th out of 106 of the top U-20 runners in the world over the 8K course in Denmark. He posted a time of 27:44 as Canada placed 12th among 16 countries.
The Toronto native had quite the year in cross country. He started off as La Salle's top finisher in three races in the fall, highlighted by a fourth place effort at the Atlantic 10 Championships, resulting in the league's Outstanding Rookie Performer award. He qualified for the Canadian National Team by finishing fourth out of 104 finishers at the Canadian National Championships and then finished sixth out of 28 runners at the NACAC Championships to help Canada win the team title.
