PHILADELPHIA – After an impressive 2-0 week against FGCU and St. John's, the La Salle women's soccer team (3-2-1) returns to the confines of McCarthy Stadium for a two-game set against Delaware (4-2) and Navy (5-1).
The Blue Hens stroll into Philadelphia on Thursday night for a 7 p.m. kickoff which will be aired on ESPN+. Navy takes the field on Sunday at 1 p.m.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle is riding a two-game winning streak and is currently 3-2-1 overall.
- The Explorers nearly swept the Atlantic 10 weekly awards for last week's play as redshirt-senior Maci Bower (Co-Offensive), junior Claudia Jenkins (Defensive), and freshman Kayla Miller-People (Rookie) were recognized for their performances.
- Bower leads the team with three goals and six points. Junior Amirah Louketis is second with a pair of goals and four points.
- Bower is tied for the conference lead in goals.
- Both of Louketis' goals were game winners, which ranks first in the A-10 and 18th in the nation.
- Miller-People is pacing the squad in assists after she collected the first two of her career last week.
- Jenkins is having a solid season in net thus far. The keeper has played every minute so far and posts a goals against average of 0.80 and a save percentage of 0.857. She also has two shutouts.
- Jenkins ranks among the conference's best in net. The Kersbrook, Australia native is second in saves (32) & save percentage, and third in goals against average.
SCOUTING THE BLUE HENS:
- Delaware is 4-2 overall this season with losses to Stonybrook and Villanova.
- Alexis Montgomery leads the Blue Hens with three goals on the season.
- Jessica Kennett has seven points on two goals and three assists.
- Kamryn Stablein has been a mainstay in net for Delaware. She's started all six games and has three shutouts on the season. Stablein boasts a 0.50 goals against average and has made 19 saves.
SCOUTING THE MIDS:
- Navy enters play at 5-1 overall and will face Gardner-Webb on Thursday.
- Both Baseley McClaskey and Cadie Higginson are leading the Mids with six points on two goals and two assists apiece.
- Two different keepers have seen action in net for the Mids this year. Sydney Fortson has five starts with a 4-1-0 record. Fortson has nine saves, two shutouts, and a goals against average of 0.59.
