PHILADELPHIA –
Christine Eisenberg, who spent the last two years as a graduate assistant, has been promoted to Assistant Cross Country/Track & Field Coach, it was announced on Thursday by head coach
Tom Peterson.
"As a graduate assistant the last two years, Christine brought a level of commitment to the position that I had not seen from that position in my time at La Salle," said Peterson. "When the opportunity to hire a new assistant coach presented itself this summer, I was thrilled that Christine wanted to continue her coaching journey at La Salle."
In Eisenberg's two years with the men's and women's cross country and track & field programs, La Salle has had 40 all-conference selections, ten Atlantic 10 Conference champions and six national qualifiers.
"Christine has a bright future in coaching," Peterson continued. "Now the program gets to soak up that light for a while longer."
Eisenberg came to La Salle in 2017 after a stellar four-year career as a distance runner at Stony Brook University. There, she earned America East all-conference and Northeast all-region honors as a senior in cross country.
At Stony Brook, Eisenberg set the 3000-meter steeplechase school record in track. She was also a two-time NCAA Outdoor East Preliminary qualifier (2016-17) in the steeplechase and was the 2016 America East 3000m indoor champion.
She graduated from Stony Brook in May of 2017 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and earned a master's degree in education from La Salle this past August.
