NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Grace Mancini is already off to a sensational start to her senior year as she was named the first Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week this season after her dominating win at the Lehigh Invitational.
 
Mancini made it look easy in her season debut at the Lehigh Invitational on Friday, cruising to victory with a time of 21:21.71 over the 6K course. She finished 35.65 seconds ahead of the second place finisher and ran an average mile of 5:43.6.
 
It's Mancini's first career A-10 weekly honor in cross country and the second of her running career, being named Track Performer of the Week back in April. Mancini is well on her way to another great year after reaching the NCAA National Championships and earning all-conference and all-region last cross country season.
 
Mancini and the Explorers have plenty of time to continue training before their next meet, the Iona Meet of Champions on Friday, Sept. 20.
