Women's Cross Country | October 30, 2021

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – El, Liz and Christine Mancini paced the women's cross country team to a sixth-place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships on Saturday, Oct. 30. The Mancini trio earned First Team All-Conference honors for placing within the top 15.
 
The women totaled 116 points in the 5K and averaged a time of 18:26.24. The Explorers finished ahead of A-10 rivals Duquesne (200 pts.), Davidson (212 pts.), Saint Louis (222 pts.), Fordham (229 pts.), Rhode Island (266 pts.), Saint Joseph's (342 pts.) and VCU (359 pts.). George Washington walked away with the team title with 50 points while George Mason's Annabelle Eastman won the individual award clocking in at 10:30.8.


HOW IT HAPPENED:

• El Mancini was the first of the Explorers to cross the finish line. She put together a time of 17:32.1 to take third place.
• Sister Liz Mancini followed right behind in fourth keeping a steady pace throughout the 3.1 miles and crossing the line with a  final time of 17:41.6, a new career-best for the career senior.  
• Christine Mancini stood at 10:44.8 at the 3K split and crossed the line at 18:15.7 to take 11^th place.
• Jenna Webb turned on the heat after the 3K split moving up nine spots to take 45^th place with a time of 19:19.1.
• Julia Flood made her first championships appearance as an Explorer clocking in at 19:22.7 for 53^rd place.
• Sammie Miller hit the 3K split at 11:42.8 and crossed the finish line with a time of 20:00.7 for 89^th place.
• Jamie Green and Amy Conboy rounded out the lineup for the Explorers clocking in at 21.01.7 and 21:47.7, respectively.
