Bethlehem, PA – The La Salle cross country teams raced in the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University Friday morning. Overall, the men finished in 30th place with a total of 848 points in the college gold race, and the women finished in 24th place in the college gold race, scoring 685 points.
Junior Malthe Bogebjerg was the first finisher for the La Salle men's team, placing 135th overall in the 8k race with a time of 24:45.7, followed by senior Charlie Hazlett, who placed 146th and finished three seconds later. Sophomore Dylan Stoneman was third for the men's team, finishing in 25:01.7 to get 176th place. Sophomore Callum Murray and junior Matt Hill rounded out the scoring, with Murray completing the race in 25:12.2 to place 199th while Hill ended his run in 26:01.6 to get 287th place.
For the women, junior Gwenno Goode started the scoring, racing the 6k in 20:34 to get 35th place. Junior Helene Usher was the next La Salle finisher, ending her run in 21:30.1 to get 131st place. Senior Neve Moulai finished 1.3 seconds later for a 136th place finish, followed by junior Stella Hammond who finished in 21:55.1 to get 203rd place. Sophomore Amelia Green was the fifth scorer for the Explorers, completing it in 22:24.6 for a 248th place finish.
In the open races, freshman Jacob Gardner and senior Chanel Muir placed in the top 20 in the men's race, while sophomore Cara Coppolino led the way for La Salle in the women's race, placing 49th with a time of 22:23.7. Gardner got 12th place with a time of 24:20.7, while Muir placed 20th with a time of 24:31.7.
La Salle returns to action on Friday, October 17 when both teams race in the Princeton Fall Classic in Princeton, NJ. The meet will start at 10:30 am.
