 NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - La Salle women's basketball's Dec. 18 game against Sacred Heart will now be set in Wilmington, Del. at CHASE Fieldhouse the Atlantic 10 announced.
 
The contest will serve as an exclusive sneak peak of the upcoming Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championships scheduled for early March at CHASE Fieldhouse, a first-time host site.
 
The matchup will retain its original 2 p.m. tipoff and will be broadcast nationally via ESPN+.
 
CHASE Fieldhouse is the home of the NBA G League Delaware Blue Coats and functions as a premier 2,500-seat arena and sports complex located within 250 miles or less from 11 of the A-10's 15 member institutions.
 
As one of the conference's two Philadelphia institutions, La Salle serves as an ideal championship preview host as the Explorers are located approximately a half-hour from Wilmington, marking one of the nearest programs to CHASE Fieldhouse within the A-10.
 
The Atlantic 10 Championship format includes all 14 teams playing at the host site. The 2022 championship opens with the first round on Wednesday, Mar. 2 followed by four second-round games on Thursday, Mar. 3. The four quarterfinal games tip off Friday, Mar. 4 before the semifinal round gets underway Saturday, Mar. 5. The semifinal round will be televised live nationally via CBS Sports Network. The championship final airs live on ESPNU on Sunday, Mar. 6.
