PHILADELPHIA – After a three-game road trip, La Salle lacrosse takes on St. Bonaventure on Thursday for its first conference home game of the season. First draw is set for noon and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
- The Blue & Gold is 2-5, coming off a loss to UMass on Sunday.
- The Explorers have struggled on the road, but boast a winning percentage at home with a 2-1 record. They most recently completed at 10-9 comeback win over Boston University on March 15th.
- Ranking towards the top of the A-10 is senior goalkeeper Molly Loughlin; her 8.86 saves per game is fourth in the conference.
- Senior Annina Iacobucci is fifth in shot percentage (.609), while classmate Priya Kavuru is sixth in the A-10 in caused turnovers per game (1.29).
- Keeping it clean: La Salle ranks first in the A-10 and third nationally in fouls per game, only surrendering an average of 8.43 each contest.
- The team has found success cleanly transitioning from defense to offense, checking in at fourth in the conference in clearing percentage (.860).
- Iacobucci and classmate Bridget Ruskey are now level for the team lead in goals (14) and total points (18).
- After a strong all-around weekend, senior Emily Johnston now ranks first on the team in ground balls (14), second in draw controls (14), tied second in caused turnovers (six), and third in goals (nine).
SCOUTING THE BONNIES
- St. Bonaventure is 2-4 this season with an 0-2 mark in A-10 play.
- The Explorers currently hold a two-game winning streak over the Bonnies (and a five-game winning streak at home against them). La Salle has taken seven of the last eight contests.
- There is hope for a low-fouling game as St. Bonaventure only commits 10.83 fouls per game, which is third least in the conference.
- As a team, the Bonnies rank fifth in the A-10 in ground balls per game with 17.
- Destinee Johnson paces the team on offense with seven goals (second-most) and six assists (first) for a team-leading 13 points.
- While no one is close to Johnson's assist tally, Abby Hiltz and Courtney Fox are tied for the goal scoring lead with eight each.
- In net, Ashley Herrick has received the majority of the minutes (244.50 of 366), tallying 42 saves on 98 shots and a 13.72 goals against average.
