Lacrosse Travels to Duquesne Friday, Hosts Saint Joseph's Sunday

PHILADELPHIA – La Salle lacrosse plays a pair of games this weekend, traveling to Duquesne on Friday before returning to McCarthy Stadium to host Saint Joseph's on Sunday. Both games are at 4 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
 
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
  • La Salle is 3-5 overall and 1-2 in A-10 play. The Blue & Gold most recently defeated St. Bonaventure at home on April 1st.
  • That 14-3 victory was the Explorers' most dominant conference win since 2018 vs. the Bonnies.
  • Senior Annina Iacobucci paces the team in goals (17) and points (21), while recording a shot percentage of .607 – good for third in the conference.
  • Senior goalkeeper Molly Loughlin had a strong game against St. Bonaventure with nine saves on 12 shots. She currently ranks fourth in the conference in saves per game (8.88), sixth in save percentage (.447) and sixth in goals against average (11.17).
  • In an all-around game, senior Emily Johnston finished with a hattrick, five draw controls and four ground balls last week. She is currently sixth in the A-10 in ground balls per game.
  • La Salle continues to play a very clean game this year and has conceded the second-least fouls per game in the nation, averaging only 7.38. It is also second in the conference in clearing percentage with .871.
SCOUTING THE DUKES
  • Duquesne is 2-2 so far with a 1-2 record in conference competitions.
  • The Explorers most recently fell to Duquesne in 2019, with the previous matchup in 2018 yielding their last win over the Dukes.
  • Duquesne has proven to be disruptive this year, ranking 10th in the NCAA in caused turnovers per game (10.75) and 13th in ground balls per game (20.25).
  • A strong contributor to those numbers is graduate student Maddie Hart, who leads the nation in caused turnovers per game (4.25) and is second in the country in ground balls per game (4.5).
  • On offense, graduate student Rilee Bradshaw paces the conference in goals per game with an average of 3.5.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
  • Saint Joseph's holds a 6-4 record and a perfect 3-0 mark in A-10 play.
  • The teams have already played once this season with the Hawks prevailing 18-11 on March 26th.
  • St. Joe's senior Stephanie Kelly has impressed this campaign, ranking eighth in the nation in assists (23), 21st in goals (31) and seventh in points (54).
  • In goal, graduate student Melissa Semkiw is second in the conference in save percentage (.503) and third in saves per game (10.29).
