Tatem Levins of the La Salle University baseball team was named Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Player of the Week on Monday following his impressive performance in the Explorers' four-game series against Saint Joseph's this past weekend.
Levins was a major factor in leading La Salle to a 3-1 series win over the Hawks in Atlantic 10 action at Hank DeVincent Field. The catcher had an eye-popping .636 batting average with a .765 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. He drove in six runs, scored five more and walked six times.
The Langhorne, Pa., native went off in Saturday's doubleheader, going 5-for-6 with a home run, a double, two runs and five RBIs over the two games. He then helped the Explorers win the series on Sunday by going 2-for-3 with three walks, two runs and an RBI in a 14-5 victory in the home finale.
Levins has come on strong at the plate as of late, pushing his batting average up to .310 for the year while helping the Explorers (29-16) move into second place on the program's all-time wins list. He has six home runs and 46 RBIs on the year to go with a .407 on-base percentage and a .503 slugging percentage.
