PHILADELPHIA – La Salle University student-athletes boasted a 3.31 semester grade point average (GPA) across 25 varsity programs during the Spring 2021 semester, the department announced Monday. In total, 45 Explorers tallied a perfect 4.0 during the spring, helping boost the department's cumulative GPA up to 3.38 from this time last year when it was 3.30.
Overall, 23 of 25 programs reached the 3.0 threshold, with 10 teams eclipsing the 3.5 mark. Women's tennis led the 3.5+ group with a 3.81, followed by volleyball (3.75), field hockey (3.61), women's water polo (3.58), women's soccer (3.57), women's swimming (3.54), women's track and cross country (3.51), and women's golf (3.5).
Comparatively, student-athletes outpaced the general student population during the spring by .12 grade points and cumulatively by .13.
