PHILADELPHIA - First-year La Salle head field hockey coach Martu Loncarica announced her program's 2021 fall schedule on Tuesday. The Explorers will host eight games at Hank DeVincent Field, including their home opener against Merrimack on Sunday, August 29.

The season opener is set for two days prior on Friday, August 27 at Rider, who won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championship a season ago. The following week, La Salle returns home for a matchup with Bryant on Friday, September 3, before a cross-town trip to Drexel two days later.

A three-game homestand begins on September 10 against Lehigh, and includes games vs. Wagner (Sept. 12) and Towson (Sept. 17). Another local matchup at Villanova dots the schedule on September 19, leading into Atlantic 10 play.

La Salle treks south for a weekend in Virginia to take on Richmond and VCU, before the A-10 home opener the following week against Saint Louis on Oct. 1. A trip outside league play for a contest against Georgetown is set for Oct. 3.

A pair of weekend trips are set for the middle of October. Following a home game against A-10 member Lock Haven on Oct. 10, the Explorers will travel to North Carolina for games against Davidson (Oct. 15) and Appalachian State (Oct. 17). The next week, La Salle will play a pair of games in the state of Massachusetts -- UMass on Oct. 22, and Holy Cross on Oct. 24. That four-game road swing is followed by the regular-season finale against Saint Joseph's on Thursday, Oct. 28 at Hank DeVincent Field.

The A-10 Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 5-6 in Philadelphia on the campus of Saint Joseph's.
