Ellen Reilly, '83 Gifts Field Hockey with WHOOP Straps
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Just before the 2021 fall field hockey season got underway, Ellen Reilly, '83 stopped by with a generous gift to help take the Explorers to the next level.
A computer science major and President of the Alumni Association, Reilly made a generous donation to supply the entire team with WHOOP Straps, devices designed to collect physiological data around the clock to help unlock human performance through insights on sleep and health monitoring.
Reilly, the Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences at WHOOP, paid a visit to the Philadelphia to meet the team accompanied by Vice President of Performance Science at WHOOP, Kristen Holmes. A former member of the U.S. National Field Hockey Team as well as a national champion as the head coach of Princeton field hockey, Holmes gave a presentation to the team on how to utilize WHOOP's many benefits both on and off the field.

"La Salle is about giving back," said Reilly. "This is my opportunity and time to give back and connect everything I love—my job, and the community I went to school in."
Reilly has remained an active member of the La Salle community since stepping on campus. A two-time President of the Resident Student Association, campus minister volunteer as well the Treasurer for the Alpha Theta Alpha Sorority, she has remained connected as an Alumni Board member as well as a generous financial supporter of the University. Ellen was the 2018 recipient of the IT Leadership Award recognizing her successful career achievements in the field.
Her latest gift comes as La Salle field hockey embarks on their first campaign under newly appointed head coach
Martu Loncarica. After winning 3-0 over Merrimack in their home opener on Sunday, Aug. 29, the Explorers continue their season on Friday, Sept. 3 when they host Bryant.
