Lacrosse Heads to Lehigh in Final Leg of Road Trip

PHILADELPHIA - For the third-consecutive game, La Salle women's lacrosse will be on the road as they head to Bethlehem, Pa. on Wednesday, March 2 to take on Lehigh. Opening draw is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., and will be streamed live on ESPN+. 

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
  • After starting their season with two wins at home over Iona and Mount St. Mary's to start the season, La Salle dropped two road losses on the road last week. 
  • The Explorers fell to Delaware 14-9 last Wednesday, before dropping an 11-9 loss to Lafayette on Saturday. 
  • As a team, the Explorers have scored 42 goals through four games, averaging 25.8 shots per game. 
  • Emily Johnston and Tori Rolon have lead the offense for La Salle, as the pair tie for the team lead with nine goals each. 
  • An A-10 Preseason All-Conference selection, Johnston also leads La Salle with 11 points and 15 draw controls, and has added six ground balls and two caused turnovers. 
  • Defender Liza Dellaratta leads the team with 12 ground balls, and has added three caused turnovers. 
  • Midfielder Maddie Henderson has done a little bit of everything for the Explorers, ranking in the top-three on the team in goals (5), points (6), ground balls (12), caused turnovers (7) and draw controls (13).
  • Goalkeepers Kelli McGroarty and Julia Dellaratta have split time in goal, combining to make 44 saves while conceding 47 goals. 
  • McGroarty's save percentage of .639 leads the team, as she has stopped 23 shots while allowing just 13 goals. 
  • The Explorer offense has been dangerous on free position attempts, scoring on 14-24 attempts while conceding on just 10-22 free position shots faced. 

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS:
  • Lehigh is off to an 0-2 start to 2022, falling to A-10 foe Saint Joesph's on their season opener 13-11 before dropping a 17-6 loss to No. 14 Rutgers in their second game. 
  • After advancing to the Patriot League championship in 2021, the Mountain Hawks were picked to finish fourth in their conference in 2022. 
  • Lehigh is led by preseason All-Patriot league honoree Gabby Schneider, who has scored six goals while adding three assists to lead her team. 
  • In goal, Hayley Hunt has made both starts for Lehigh, making 27 saves while allowing 27 goals. 
  • Through two games, Lehigh has been out shot 73-54 in two games while converting 5-of-14 free position shots.
