Lacrosse Back in Action Saturday on Road at Siena

PHILADELPHIA - After a break of 10 days, La Salle women's lacrosse will continue their season on Saturday, March 19 when they head to Loudonville, N.Y. to take on Siena. 

Opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m., and will be steamed live on Siena All-Access. 

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
  • After starting the season with a pair of wins including a triple-overtime thriller over NEC favorite Mount St. Mary's, the Explorers will look to end their current five-game skid and pick up their first road win of the season. 
  • Preseason A-10 All-Conference selection Emily Johnston has done it all for La Salle, leading the team with 15 goals, three assists, 18 points and 24 draw controls while ranking in the top-two on her team in caused turnovers (11) and ground balls (17). 
  • Junior Tori Rolon slots behind Johnson with 13 goals on just 27 shots, including a 7-for-8 mark on free position attempts. 
  • Ten different Explorers have tallied goals this season, as La Salle averages 8.29 goals on 25.7 shots per game. 
  • Defender Liza Dellaratta leads La Salle with 18 ground balls, and has caused five turnovers. 
  • Maddie Henderson has racked up a team-high 12 caused turnovers, and has contributed five goals, 18 draw controls, and 16 ground balls. 
  • In goal, Kelli McGroarty and Julia Dellaratta have split time for the Explorers while combining for 67 saves and 84 goals allowed. 
  • McGroarty picked up the first start of her collegiate career in La Salle's last outing against Villanova after starting the second half in her previous six games. 
  • The Explorers have been more efficient in clears than their opponents, holding a percentage of .897 (113-126) compared to .847 (116-137) by their opponents 
  • La Salle also has accounted for 15 more ground balls (134-119) than their opponents through seven contests. 

SCOUTING THE SAINTS:
  • After finishing the 2021 season with an overall mark of 11-3, Siena is off to a 2-5 start to their 2022 campaign. 
  • The Saints 2021 season included a 9-2 record in conference play, while they have yet to face a MAAC conference foe yet in 2022. 
  • After starting the current season 2-1, the Saints have dropped four-consecutive games to Vermont, Lehigh, Harvard, and No. 22 Massachusetts. 
  • The high-powered Siena offense has averaged 10.86 goals per game despite a challenging non-conference schedule, including 12 in their last matchup against the nationally ranked Minutewomen. 
  • Five-different Saints have accumulated double-digit points, led by 31 from Nicole McNeely (16 goals, 15 assists). 
  • Jordan Bentley (14), Grace Dobrzynski (14), Mary Soures (10), and Kelsey Lanes (10) round out the top-five in scoring for Siena. 
  • Sabrina Krasner and Ally Mervine have shared time in goal for the Saints, combining for totals of 89 goals allowed and 63 saves.
