BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The La Salle men's cross country team opened the season with a fifth-place finish at the Lehigh Invite.
The Explorers recorded 150 points with a total time of 1:33:51. Villanova took the first-place slot with 15 points. Temple, Saint Joseph's and Lehigh rounded out the top five.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- James Ptack was the first to cross the finish line for the Explorers. He placed 31st with a time of 18:43.6.
- Taonga Mbambo was nearly two seconds behind in 34th place with a time of 18:45.5.
- Ibrahim Kedir averaged 5:02.3 mile for a total time of 18:47.6 to place 37th.
- Newcomer David Butts and sophomore MacCallum Rowe placed 39th and 40th, respectively. Butts clocked in at 18:49.0 and Rowe at 18:52.7.
UP NEXT:
- The Explorers have a two-week break before returning to the course on September 16 at the Main Line Invitational. Action is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
