CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – La Salle field hockey will take on the Providence Friars tomorrow at 12 p.m. in their final game before playoffs next week.
The game will be senior day and the team's Morgan's Message game to raise awareness for mental health.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- The Blue & Gold are coming off a tough 4-1 loss to Saint Joseph's yesterday. The No. 14 ranked Hawks proved to be a force, but the Explorers were able to stay with them a majority of the game.
- Julianna Smyth made her return to Hawk Hill after winning a conference title with them last year and was able to get a score for La Salle.
- Dunja Hartsch put a shot on goal which was deflected up and into the back of the cage by Smyth.
- Emily Streib was formidable against the high-powered SJU offense and had five impressive saves throughout the game.
- Sofia Pla was able to notch a defensive save in yesterday's contest.
SCOUTING THE FRIARS:
- The Big-East member Providence College comes into tomorrow with a 10-7 overall record, 3-4 in conference.
- The Friars faced Villanova Friday and fell to them 4-3, giving up the game-winning goal with five minutes remaining in the game.
- Ally DeCoste is the team-leader in goals with nine at this point in the season.
- Asia Porter has started every game in net for Providence and comes in with a .723 save percentage.
HOW TO FOLLOW:
- The game will be played at the Proving Grounds in Conshohocken, Pa. starting at 12 p.m. Arrive to the facility early for the senior day ceremony to honor the six seniors on this year's team.
