CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The La Salle University men's cross country team finished second at the 2023 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships on Saturday. The Explorers had five runners finish within the top 20, including senior
Taonga Mbambo and sophomore
MacCallum Rowe who crossed the finish line in sixth and seventh place, respectively. Loyola Chicago repeated as A-10 champions with five in the top 10.
HOW IT HAPPENED

- Andres Hernandez and James Ptack were in third and fourth place, respectively, at the first time marker, and La Salle stood in second place.
- The 6,000-meter mark saw La Salle pull even closer with first-place Loyola Chicago. Rowe sprinted into second place, with five runners in the top 11.
- Through the 6K mark, the Explorers stood just two points behind the Ramblers with 38 points.
- The Ramblers, who won last season's A-10 championship in their first season as conference members, finished strong and had three of the top four finishers.
- Rowe and Mbambo were joined by Ptack, Hernandez, and junior David Butts in the Top 20.
