PHILADELPHIA – The 3-3 La Salle women's basketball team will take on the 5-2 Virginia Cavaliers on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff is at 1:00 p.m. and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- The Explorers are coming off a hard-fought loss to the Penn Quakers on Wednesday. They fell 79-71, but stayed with Penn the whole way.
- Makayla Miller provided consistent offense for La Salle against Penn, tallying 23 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
- Miller scored her season-high for the Explorers, which also marks the most points scored by an Explorer this season, beating out Nicole Melious who scored 22 against American earlier this season.
- On the glass, Jolene Armendariz gave La Salle a big boost. She totaled seven rebounds pulled in against Penn, four defensive and three offensive. The graduate student leads the Blue & Gold in total rebounds this season with 33, averaging 6.6 per game.
- Molly Masciantonio distributed the ball at a high level on Wednesday. She had a team-high six assists and no turnovers.
- As a group, La Salle shot and made their most three-pointers against the Quakers. They were 12-36 from beyond the arch, with Armendariz making three of those attempts.
- Tomorrow marks the first meeting between the two programs.
SCOUTING THE CAVALIERS:
- Virginia enters tomorrow sitting at 5-2 overall and most recently comes off a 87-81 win over Missouri in overtime on Thursday.
- Forward Camryn Taylor led the scoring charge for Virginia scoring 26 points in the overtime win Thursday. Taylor is the team's top scorer averaging 15 points per game, and shooting 43.5% from the field.
- Rebounding for Virginia is led by Jillian Brown, having pulled in 48 total rebounds this season. The Cavaliers last time out, however, Alexia Smith pulled in 13 rebounds, nine defensive and four offensive.
- The Virginia offense has been high-powered all season long as they are averaging 76.9 points per game, shooting 38.1% from the field and 26.3% from deep.
