PHILADELPHIA, Pa – The 0-1 La Salle women's lacrosse team will travel to Franklin Field on Saturday, February 18
th at 1:00 P.M.
The Quakers are facing La Salle in their 2023 season opener.
Scouting the Explorers –
- The Explorers are coming off an 8-11 loss to Iona last Saturday, after making a close comeback within the contest.
- Junior midfielder, Maddie Henderson, had a strong start to the season as she tallied two goals on three shots, caused three turnovers, and had three draw controls.
- Alana Lathan played an effective first game as an Explorer against Iona. Lathan scored two goals on three shots.
- Sophomore attack, Ellen Stickney, scored a goal and had an assist in her first contest as an Explorer.
- Goalie, Julia Dellaratta, notched 11 saves for La Salle against Iona.
Scouting the Quakers –
- The Explorers and Quakers met in 2021 in a contest that Penn won 16-11.
- Sophomores, Anna Brandt and Keely Block, are back for the Quakers this season after having the top two spots on the team in scoring. Brandt had 24 goals, while Block had 21.
- Kennon Moon led Penn last season with 78 draw controls last season.
- In the 2021 matchup, the Quakers went 22-22 on clears, as La Salle was 18-25.
