Track and Field to Compete at A-10 Indoor Championships

KINGSTON, R.I. – The La Salle men's and women's track and field teams cap off the season at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Rhode Island, this Saturday, Feb. 25 and Sunday, Feb. 26.

Liam Rivard leads the charge on the men's side heading into the weekend. The senior ranks first in the conference in the 800-meter breaking the school record with a time of 1:48.21 at the BU Valentine Invite. He also ranks ninth in the 400m recording a season-best time of 48.87 at the Villanova Invitational on Jan. 21.
 
Ibrahim Kedir enters the weekend ranked third in the league in the 5K also recently breaking the program record with a time of 13:48.23 at the BU Valentine Invite on Feb. 10. He recorded a season-best time of 8:08.83 in the 3K at the Columbia Challenge earlier this season to hold the seventh slot in the conference.
 
MacCallume Rowe joins Rivard and Kedir on the conference's leaderboards. Rowe holds the eighth spot in the 5K with his 14:13.84 performance at the BU Valentine Classic and is 11th in the 3K with a time of 8:12.65 at the Columbia Challenge. Finn Birnie currently ranks top 10 in the A-10 in the 3K recording a time of 8:19.59 in the final regular meet of the season.
 
On the women's side, the Mancini trio rank in the top three in the conference currently in a number of races. Liz Mancini holds the top time in the league in the 5K followed by sister El Mancini with the third-best time. The duo recorded times of 16:02.08 and 16:23.18 at the final regular meet of the season. The twins also hold the one and two spots in the 3K. Liz Mancini's time of 9:22.37 this season leads the league while El Mancini's time of 9:32.20 is second.
 
Christine Mancini ranks top three in the 800-meter recording a time of 2:09.18 at the BU Valentine Invite two weeks ago. She joins Liz Mancini in the rankings for the mile placing fourth in the league with a time of 4:50.80 achieved on Jan. 14. Liz Mancini ranks second in the league with a time of 4:47.63 reached in the same race.
 
Additionally, Olabisi Adams has been dominant in the long jump for the Explorers this season ranking third in the conference with a mark of 5.83m. The Explorers will also be looking to Navaeh Davis who holds the 10th spot on the league leaderboard in the 60m. The sophomore clocked in at 7.78 on Feb. 10 to earn the placement.La Salle will also look to the squad of Davis, Maya Primas, Jya Marshall, and Linise Green in the 4x400 relay. The squad's time of 4:02.18 currently is good for 12th in the conference.
