Amherst, Mass. – The Explorers will have a mid-week bout with the UMASS Minutewomen on Wednesday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m.
La Salle will enter tomorrow in search of their first win this season.
Scouting the Explorers –
- La Salle is coming off a tough 13-11 loss to A-10 member George Mason. Four Explorers had multi-goal games against the Patriots.
- Alana Lathan was one that scored twice for La Salle in their last game, and those goals helped her stay atop the scoring leader board for the team with 11 goals.
- Claudia Steinmetz and Maddie Henderson each scored twice against Mason, and now are tied for second with 10 goals apiece on the season.
- Defender, Raquel Nieves, is one of the top ground ball controllers on the team as she has collected 18 total thus far in the season.
- Goalie, Julia Dellaratta, has started all eight contests for La Salle this season and comes into tomorrow with a .391 save percentage.
Scouting the Minutewomen –
- UMASS enters tomorrow as the No. 19 ranked team in the country with a record of 8-1.
- Their most recent win came against George Washington where after being tied 3-3, the Minutewomen scored 15 unanswered goals.
- Fiona McGowan and Alex Finn each have scored 19 goals for UMASS thus far in 2023.
- Jordan Dean leads the team with 50 draw controls.
- Gina Carroll has started all nine games in net for UMASS and has a .347 save percentage.
