Men’s Soccer Welcomes Nine New Members to the 2023 Team

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Head Coach Taylor Thames and the La Salle men's soccer team are welcoming nine new faces to 20th & Olney for the 2023 fall season. The group includes four international student-athletes, and five from the United States.
 
Yuval Nimrodi is a freshman midfielder hailing from Giv'at Shmuel, Israel. Nimrodi joins Omri Ezra as another member of the team being from Israel. He played for Maccabi Herzelyia and was a member of the Israeli Third League Championship for the 2022-23 season. Freshman defender Robert Myrick is staying close to home coming to La Salle as he is from Philadelphia. Myrick played for the Philadelphia Union Academy and attended YSC Academy in high school.
 
Another international student joining the Explorers is Kyrese Lynch-Bailey. Lynch-Baileey is from Brampton, Ontario and was a previous member of Toronto FC as a midfielder and forward. Alexandru Zama, like Myrick, attended YSC Academy for high school and played for the Philadelphia Union Academy. Zama is from Warminster Academy and won five straight state cups with his Ukrainian National local club team.
 
Freshman forward Daniel Lainsbury comes from St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Lainsbury attended St. Louis Park High School and played for Minnesota United FC. While in high school he was his team's leading goal scorer for two seasons. Lucas Lainez is a defender from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. The freshman attended Egg Harbor Township High School and played for FC Delco.
 
Leon Steffen is another international player coming to La Salle and is from Eutin, Germany. While in Germany he played for Holstein Kiel and was a member of the quarterfinal team in the DFB Cup in 2022-23. Christian McGillen is a local player from Pennsburg, Pennsylvania and attended Upper Perkiomen High School. McGillen played for PA Classics and qualified for the MLS Next Playoffs and Flex Cup. Tobi Osoba rounds out this incoming class and is from Essex, England. Osoba attended the Repton school and in 2022-23 he was selected for the U18 National team.
