Men's Cross Country | September 14, 2023

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The La Salle men's and women's cross country teams will step onto the course on Friday at the Main Line Invitational, hosted by Haverford College.
 
The meet is set to begin at 4:45 p.m. with the women's 3-mile race, followed by the men's 4-mile race at 5:30 p.m. 
 
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS (MEN)

• The La Salle men's team opened its 2023 season competing at the Temple Owl Invite, where it placed third with a total 75 points.
• Charlie Hazlett paced the Explorers by placing seventh in 19:44.7 in the 6k race.
• Alex Sandras had the next best finish for La Salle, taking 14^th in 19:58.5.
• Teketel Tyson followed Sandras in 18^th in 20:25.0.
• Joe Branderbit and Stefano Isabella rounded out the Explorers' lineup in the team standings by finishing in 22^nd and 23^rd, respectively. Branderbit clocked a 20:50.1, while Isabella crossed the line in 20:50.7.
• Last year at the Main Line Invitational, Finn Bernie placed 17^th to lead the Explorers.

 SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS (WOMEN):

• The La Salle women's team enters the Main Line Invitational after placing third at the Temple Owl Invite with a total of 49 points.
• Running in her first collegiate race, freshman Helene Usher crossed the finish line first for the Explorers, placing seventh in a time of 15:50.1 in the 4k race.
• Fellow freshman Amelia Artz followed Usher in eighth place in 15:55.2.
• Neve Moulai rounded out the top-10 finishers for the Explorers, placing 10^th in 6:13.3.
• Jerika Lufrano recorded the fourth-best finish for La Salle, taking 11^th in 16:14.1.
• Stella Hammond rounded out the Explorers' lineup in the team standings by finishing in 13^th in 16:18.4.
• Last year, the Explorers saw Lufrano and Emma Taylor place in the top 20 at the Main Line Invitational. Lufrano finished 11^th in the race, while Taylor took 14^th.
