ST. LOUIS — The La Salle women's soccer team played defending Atlantic 10 champion Saint Louis tough in the first half, but the 24
th-ranked Billikens pulled away in the second half to earn a 4-0 win on Sunday afternoon at Hermann Stadium.
With the loss, the Explorers are now 2-5-2 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Looking to beat the Billikens for the first time since 2014, the Explorers held the Billikens (7-2-1, 1-0 A-10) scoreless in the first half. In addition, they tied Saint Louis in shots in the first 45 minutes with five.
- Junior Olivia Vricella led La Salle in the first half offensively, taking two shots, including one on goal in the 40th minute that was saved. Emily Banashefski, Elizabeth Estrada, and Haley Gschrey also attempted in the first half.
- In the second half, the Billikens' offense exploded for four goals. They scored goals in the 48th, 68th, 70th, and 74th minutes, respectively.
- The Explorers took three shots in the second half. Madison McCready took a shot in the 55th minute, Vricella had a shot saved in the 67th minute, and Ricshya Walker attempted a shot in the 74th minute.
GAME NOTES
- Vricella's three shots and two shots on goal both marked career highs for her.
- Goalie Michela Auguadro did all she could in goal, making five saves.

- The Explorers will come back to the East Coast to play George Washington in another A-10 match on Thursday on the road. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
