Women’s Soccer to Face Dayton on the Road

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's soccer team will head to Ohio to face off against the Dayton Flyers on Thursday evening. The Explorers will look to break the Flyers hold on first place in the Atlantic-10. It is a rematch of the A-10 semifinal game last season where La Salle upset No. 16 Dayton to advance to the A-10 final. The game will stream on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
  • After earning results in its last five matchups, the Explorers fell to Duquesne, 1-0 on Saturday.
  • Gschrey leads the Explorers with eight goals, tying her team-leading total from last season. She is fifth all-time in La Salle career goals scored with 22.
  • Michela Auguadro is the starting goalkeeper for La Salle. She is only the second player in program history who has reached the 20 clean sheet mark.
  • Balance has become La Salle's calling card this season. The Explorers rank fourth in both total offense (1.80 GPG) and are top ten in goals allowed (1.1). Only Dayton, Duquesne, and Saint Louis rank above the Explorers in both categories.
  • Gschrey also is tied for second in the league in assists with six.
  • The Explorers are led by head coach Paul Royal, who enters his 22nd season at the helm. Royal is one of the top coaches in the Atlantic 10, earning five trips to the NCAA Tournament during his tenure and has sent 16 players to the professional ranks. He was voted A-10 Coach of the Year for the fifth time last season.
  • Royal has amassed 218 wins in his head coaching career. He ranks 18th among active D1 coaches in wins at a single institution.
 
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
  • Dayton is an impressive is 11-3 this season. The Flyers are 5-1 in A-10 play.
  • Dayton leads the A-10 in total goals. Noel Blain leads the squad in scores with nine.
  • Eric Golz leads the team in his 8th season. He is 103-64-21 in his career.
