Washington, D.C. – Freshman forward Kayden WIlliams was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team, while sophomore forward
Alexis Garcia was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic team, the conference announced on Tuesday morning. With Williams' honor of being named to the All-Rookie Team, it is the ninth consecutive season an Explorer has earned a spot on the team. The All-Rookie honors are voted on by league coaches, while the All-Academic squad is decided by the conference's women's soccer communications directors.
Williams earns All-Rookie honors following an outstanding freshman campaign. The Harrisburg, PA native finished tied for first on the team in assists with five, third on the team in goals with four, and second on the team in points with 13. She appeared in 17 games and started in five. The forward closed out the regular season with two goals and four assists in her final six games, and the team was 5-1-1 in games where she recorded a goal or assist.
Garcia earns A-10 postseason honors for the second straight year, earning All-Rookie honors in her 2024 campaign. The native from Toms River, NJ was second on the team in goals with five and third on the team in points with 12. In the team's game against George Washington on October 11, the forward scored a hat trick in a span of less than six minutes to lead the squad to a 5-1 victory.
