SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
  • La Salle comes into the 2024-25 season with 13 new faces. The Explorers brought in eight transfers from Division I, JUCO, and Community Colleges to the roster. Five freshmen have also been added to the squad, with two members from last year's team returning.
  • The Explorers will hit the road to face sound competition this season. After hosting them last year, La Salle will hit the road to take on the University of Virginia in mid-November. La Salle will also face projected top-5 team Texas towards the end of non-conference play in December.
  • La Salle basketball will enter a new era as they embark on the opening on the newly renovated John E. Glaser Arena. The venue will feature a 360-degree bowl, state-of-the-art video boards and audio, and a new HVAC system.
  • La Salle welcomes back two members to the 24-25 team in graduate student Jolene Armendariz and sophomore Aryss Macktoon. Armendariz appeared in 29 games last year and averaged 6.2 ppg. Macktoon only played four games due to injury but averaged 10.8 ppg.
  • Joining the Explorers from familiar spots are redshirt sophomore Ashleigh Connor and graduate Mackenzie Daleba. Connor comes to La Salle from A-10 member Saint Louis and Daleba from a 2023-24 nationally ranked Fairfield Stags program.
  • This will be the second meeting between La Salle and Maine as the two teams squared off in Philadelphia last season.
  • Maine was victorious in that matchup 58-48. Of the returning Explorers, Macktoon has the best performance. The now sophomore finished the contest with 13 points, three rebounds, and one steal.
  • Jolene Armendariz led La Salle with four rebounds in last year's game against Maine.

SCOUTING THE BLACK BEARS:
  • Maine finished the 2023-24 season with a 24-10 overall record and a 14-2 record in American East play.
  • The 14-2 record was enough to secure the Black Bears with the Conference Championship this past season.
  • The conference victory gave Maine a berth into the NCAA tournament in which they faced the Ohio State University Buckeyes in the first round.
  • The Black Bears fell in that game 80-57. Last season marked the 10th NCAA tournament appearance for the Black Bears.
  • Adrianna Smith and Caroline Bornemann both return to the Maine lineup for the 2024-25 season.
  • In last season's matchup with La Salle Smith tallied 12 points, and 15 rebounds.
  • Bornemann finished the contest with 11 points and seven rebounds. Both of which will need to be accounted for when working the boards.
