SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle will be looking to rewrite the recent history of the program starting tomorrow. The Explorers are coming off of a winless 2023.
- The top six goal scorers from last season's squad will all be returning this year in 2024. Alana Lathan led that bunch scoring 20 goals in her first year as an Explorer after spending time as a George Mason Patriot.
- Lathan's offensive stats proved to be a bright spot throughout last season. She led in goals (20), points (27), shots (55), and shots on goal (43). The last four games for the Explorers, Lathan scored in each of those games, including a hat trick against Richmond, her only of the season.
- Ellen Stickney had a strong first season with the Explorers in the 2023 season, also joining from George Mason. The junior led La Salle in assists last season with eight.
- The best outing for Stickney in 2023 was against the St. Bonaventure Bonnies in an 11-10 loss. Stickney willed the Explorers with her three goals and one assist, a strong performance by her.
- Maddie Henderson and Claudia Steinmetz provide senior leadership in 2024 and will be at the front lines of a fresh season. The duo combined for 31 goals last season, 16 from Henderson and 15 from Steinmetz.
- Mackenzie Click and Katie Johnson come into 2024 rounding out the double-digit goal-scorers group from last season. Click, a two-sport athlete at La Salle as a member of the women's soccer team, provided 13 goals and four assists last season in 14 games played.
- Johnson added ten goals and six assists in 2023. Against George Mason and Massachusetts, she totaled four goals, two in each game.
- Last year's starting goalie is not on the 2024 squad, so the team will be looking to sophomore Mary Babbage, junior Casey Callagher, and freshman Brooke Nelson to fill to spot.
- Baggage partook in five games last season ending with a .261 save percentage. Gallagher entered two contests for the Explorers and ended with a .333 save percentage.
- The Explorers are welcoming in junior transfer Gina D'Angelo to the team this season. D'Angelo comes in as a midfielder from Elon University where she entered ten games in her two seasons there.
- There will be eight freshmen on the team this season including: Kate Licciardi, Kayla Norris, Mia Riccitelli, Natalie Riccitelli, Brooke Nelson, Aniyah Bishop, Emma Brull, and Kasey O'Neill.
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS:
- The Knights are in the second season of women's lacrosse ever at Fairleigh Dickinson. They finished 1-12 overall last season, getting their lone win against Howard in an in-conference match up.
- FDU is off to a difficult start to the 2024 season sitting at 0-2. The Knights have played Rider and Monmouth thus far and have conceded 19.5 goals per game so far, while only scoring 13 total goals themselves.
- Three Knights should be of key focus for La Salle: Nora Codianni, Riley Eaton, and Jordan Santana. All three have scored three goals for FDU through the two games played.
- In net, Skylar Goodman has played all 120 minutes for FDU and sits with a .391 save percentage on the young season.
- FDU is led by Jessica Pandolf at head coach.
