SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
  • The Explorers are coming off a comeback defeat in double overtime to the Manhattan Jaspers this past Saturday. La Salle scored three unanswered goals in the fourth to tie the game up at 12 goals apiece.
  • Katie Johnson's fourth goal of the day against the Jaspers was the equalizer with just 1:39 remaining in regulation.
  • Johnson's four goals get her up to ten total on the season, the leader on the team through the three games played.
  • In the first period of overtime, the Explorers had one chance to end the contest, however, the shot attempt by Mackenzie Click hit the post, and La Salle was not able to find the back of the net from there.
  • Click finished the game with one goal, now sitting at six total on the season.
  • Ellen Stickney has scored in all three games this season for La Salle, adding two more goals to her season total against the Jaspers Saturday.
  • The leader on the team in ground balls this season has been Grace Lord. The sophomore has 12 total pickups, six more than the next person.
  • In goal this season, Mary Babbage and freshman Brooke Nelson have split time for La Salle. Babbage was the starter for the Explorers against Manhattan, but Nelson was inserted in goal in the first quarter of play and she stayed there for the remainder of the contest.

SCOUTING THE BISON:
  • After going 0-15 in the 2023 season, the Howard Bison have not gotten off to a better start in 2024. Entering tomorrow they are sitting at 0-4 on the year.
  • In each of the four games they have played, the Bison have allowed 14 or more goals, the most coming against George Washington at 21 goals.
  • The Bison season-high in goals scored in a game came against American, where they totaled nine in a 14-9 loss.
  • Quai Skeete-Ridley leads Howard in goals scored and points this season having five goals and six points.
  • A familiar face to the Explorers, Maya Rhymes, is now a Bison and she had four goals this season, but went scoreless in their last game against Eastern Michigan.
  • Logan Ford has been in net the entire season for Howard and enters tomorrow with a .311 save percentage.
