SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
  • La Salle will look to rebound quickly after a tough loss to the Loyola Chicago Ramblers on Thursday night, 73-29. The Explorer offense had a tough time throughout the game and will be trying to turn that around tomorrow.
  • Nicole Melious led the way with 14 points in the loss. Only five of the 12 Explorers that entered last night's game scored.
  • Makayla Miller added ten points on the night, continuing her double-digit scoring streak to ten games. Miller has now totaled 129 points in these ten games, averaging 12.9 points per game in that stretch.
  • Junior Gabby Turco didn't contribute the numbers offensively for the Explorers last night, but she is on the brink of eclipsing 1,000 career collegiate points in tomorrow's game. The guard is just three points away from getting to that milestone.
  • Turco began her career at Saint Anslem and totaled 860 points in the two years she was there. She sits at 137 points in her first season at La Salle.
  • The Explorers are ranked in certain categories within the conference worth noting: 3rd in 3-PT field goals made (164), 3rd in opponent 3-PT FG percentage (.286), and 3rd in steals (199).
  • La Salle has now lost back-to-back games after Thursday's loss to Loyola Chicago. The Explorers sit at 4-7 in conference play along with Saint Louis. The Dukes are 9-3 in conference play.
  • As a team, the Explorers take as many three-point shots as any team in the Atlantic 10 Conference with 27.1 per game. Nationally, La Salle is ranked 10th in the nation in that category. Marshall ranks first taking 30.8 three-point attempts per game this season.

SCOUTING THE DUKES:
  • The Dukes have been dominate since entering A-10 Conference play, going 9-3 in that stretch of games. More recently the Dukes are on a two-game winning streak after topping Rhode Island and Massachusetts that last two times out.
  • Megan McConnell is the engine for the Duquesne offense in so many ways. The junior guard is averaging 12.5 points per game this season, shooting 43.7% from the field.
  • McConnell is third in the conference in rebounds. averaging 8.7 per game this season, she also ranks first in the conference in assist/turnover ratio at 2.8.
  • Tess Myers and Naelle Bernard rank third and fourth in the A-10 in three-point field goals per game, 2.6 and 2.4, respectively.
  • Last season the two teams met in Philadelphia and the Explorers came out on top 72-56. Tomorrow will be the first and only meeting in the regular season this year.
  • The Dukes have a slight 22-23 edge in the series history, going 11-10 in games played in the Steel City.
