SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
  • La Salle returns home for the first home conference game of the year one week removed from falling to the Davidson Wildcats 16-7.
  • The majority of the first half was a back-and-forth affair, where the Explorers would find an answer to every goal scored by Davidson.
  • Alana Lathan and Katie Johnson remained huge parts of the Explorer offense, despite the result of the game.
  • Lathan was able to help kick start the scoring for La Salle last week, and she would ultimately amount to two goals scored, responding to Davidson goals.
  • Johnson, who sits atop the scoring leaderboard for La Salle, also tallied two goals in the contest. The junior got her goal total up to 16 goals in this game. She also leads with 21 points.
  • Three of the six La Salle goals against Davidson came on a woman-up opportunity. La Salle has been quite successful in situations like that this season.
  • On the woman-up opportunity they are scoring 14 goals, and only allowing five goals by opponents when they are a player up.
  • Mackenzie Click has been a formidable player for La Salle in the ground ball and draw control categories. She is second to Grace Lord in ground balls, and is first in draw controls with 39.
  • Brooke Nelson made her second straight start for La Salle against Davidson. She surrendered nine goals, with eight saves. Mary Babbage entered the contest and played 21:43, giving up seven goals with five saves.

SCOUTING THE BONNIES:
  • St. Bonaventure enters tomorrow after dropping their last contest in a close one, 9-8 to Canisius. That loss comes only a few days after SBU earned their first conference win of 2024.
  • The Bonnies topped the George Washington Revolutionaries 14-7 in New York, and will be playing in their first road conference game tomorrow.
  • Fiona McGovern is the player to watch on offense for St. Bonaventure. McGovern has scored a team-leading 18 goals this season, adding 10 assists, and has 28 points, also team-leading.
  • Last season, in a 11-10 win over La Salle in New York, McGovern totaled three goals, two assists, and five points in the nail-biting win for the Bonnies.
  • Ashley Herrick has spent a majority of the season in goal for SBU. She enters the contest tomorrow with a .500 save percentage.
