SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- The last time out for La Salle resulted in a tough home loss to the UMBC Retrievers 14-7. The Explorers had moments where they came back to tie the game a few times, but they could not take the lead in the end.
- Alana Lathan was the team's leading scorer in the contest against the Retrievers. The redshirt sophomore tallied her second hat trick of the season, totaling three goals in the game.
- Maddie Henderson also provided the Explorers with some consistent offense against UMBC as she scored two goals on three shots.
- Mackenzie Click and Claudia Steinmetz provided the other two goals for the La Salle offense, only getting the game total to seven goals.
- The team's leading scorer this season still remains Katie Johnson and although she did not register a goal, she got two points from two assists last time out.
- Johnson sits four goals above Lathan on the goal totals list this season, 14-10.
- In some of the losses for La Salle this season, draw controls have proven to be a big part in that. Against UMBC they only could corral seven draw controls, opposed to the 18 by UMBC.
- Despite the losing record, the Explorer defense has had success making the opposing offense uncomfortable this season. As a team, La Salle has caused 40 turnovers, and opponents have only caused 31 on the Explorers. Grace Lord is the leader in that category for La Salle with 11.
- Brooke Nelson made another start in goal for the Explorers against UMBC, stopping nine shots in the loss. Her save percentage sits at .509.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS:
- Davidson enters at 3-4 tomorrow, but have played a formidable out of conference schedule. Their opening contest this year was against the #23 Clemson Tigers, a game in which Davidson lost 19-10.
- The Wildcats are returning from two games out on the west coast, going 0-2 in those contests against UC Davis and Stanford.
- Josie Lambert sits atop the leaderboard in goals for Davidson. The junior midfielder has 23 goals on 35 shots this season.
- Paige Doyle has spent a majority of the season in net for the Wildcats, getting all seven starts. She enters with a .395 save percentage.
