WASHINGTON, D.C. – La Salle University's Catherine McFadden has been named one of the 15 recipients of the Atlantic 10 Postgraduate Scholarship, as announced on Tuesday. This honor is given to one student-athlete from each of the conference's 15 schools.

McFadden, a public health major, contributed consistently throughout her four years at La Salle. Since her first season in the 2020-21 season, she has appeared in 52 games over her career, starting in 10 of them. In the 2022 season she scored a career-high four goals in the season including two of them in a 5-3 win over Longwood. This season she contributed to a 7-0 win over Queens University with a goal of her own.

In the classroom, she has been named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll twice, as well as being a two-time member of the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.  McFadden will continue her graduate studies at Jefferson University.

Over the last decade, the A-10's Postgraduate Scholarship program has awarded $570,000 to 114 former student-athletes. Each of this year's 15 honorees receives $5,000 to contribute towards full-time enrollment in a postgraduate or professional program. First instituted to provide continuing education opportunities for graduating student-athletes, the program awards $75,000 in scholarship funding to former A-10 student-athletes. This marks the eighth year the Atlantic 10 has provided the scholarships to individuals from each Atlantic 10 campus.

The scholarship recipients have attended colleges and universities throughout the United States, as well as internationally. Award winners have included a Fulbright Scholarship recipient, eight institutional and two conference NCAA Woman of the Year nominees, SAAC representatives, Academic All Americans, A-10 record-holders and championship Most Outstanding Performers, Players of the Week, Dean's List and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll recipients as well as team captains, MVP's and community activists.
