Men's Cross Country Picked Second in Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The La Salle men's cross country has been picked to finish in second place in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll, as voted on by league coaches.

The Explorers received a total of 205 points in the poll, including two first-place votes. Loyola Chicago was picked to win the conference, getting a total of 222 points and receiving 13 first-place votes. Massachusetts, George Mason, and George Washington rounded out the top five.  

La Salle was the only other A-10 team to receive first-place votes. The team comes off of a 2023 season in which it finished second in the conference championship meet, with a score of 59 points and a total time of 2:02:25. The Explorers had two top-10 finishers, including returner MacCallum Rowe, who finished seventh with a time of 24:20.3.

For the La Salle women's cross country team, the Explorers were predicted to finish seventh in the preseason poll, receiving a total of 135 points. Loyola Chicago was picked first with a total of 224 points, getting 14 first-place votes.

The men's and women's teams will continue its 2024 seasons on Friday, Sept. 20 at the Main Line Invite in Haverford, Pa. The race will start at 4:30 p.m.
