Women's Basketball Travels To Saint Joseph's

PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle women's basketball team will travel to Saint Joseph's on  Saturday at 2 pm.

Crashing The Boards

La Salle outrebounded Duquesne 58-38 and came within three of the single-game school record for rebounds on Wednesday.
Graduate student Mackenzie Daleba (11 points, 18 rebounds), and freshman Joan Quinn (13 points, 12 rebounds) became the first pair of Explorers to record a double-double in a game since Shaquana Edwards and Amy Griffin against Massachusetts in 2018. Daleba became the first Explorer with more than 15 rebounds since Kayla Spruill in 2021 against Coppin State.

La Salle's 58 rebounds on Wednesday are the third-most by an Atlantic 10 school this season and two shy of the Explorers' season high of 60 rebounds against Chestnut Hill.

Coming into the week, the Explorers ranked 74th in the country with 13.4 offensive rebounds per game, good for fifth in the Atlantic 10.

The Emergence Of Joan Quinn

Freshman Joan Quinn earned Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors last week after leading the Explorers in points against Massachusetts and George Mason. She continued her strong play against Duquesne on Wednesday, picking up a 13-point, 12-rebound double-double.

Quinn is second on the team in points and is averaging 8.5 points per game on the season. She has scored in double figures seven times this season while averaging 1.9 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
The Series

Saturday's game marks the 71st meeting between the two crosstown rivals. In the first meeting between the two teams this season, Ashleigh Connor led the Explorers with nine points, but St. Joe's earned an 85-49 victory at John Glaser Arena.

Connor Continues to Impress

Redshirt Sophomore Ashleigh Connor leads the Explorers with 12.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per contest.

Connor, who has scored in double figures in 12 of her last 15 games, is getting consistent production at the free throw line. Connor has connected on four or more free throws in six of her last nine games and ranks 15th in the Atlantic 10 in free throw percentage at 79%.

The Magic Formula

La Salle is one win away from matching last year's win total. The Explorers are 5-1 on the season when scoring 65 points or more and 6-3 when hitting 23 or more field goals throughout a contest.

Depth Is Key

Coming into the week, the Explorers are average 20 bench points per game, good for seventh in the Atlantic 10.

Scouting The Hawks

Saint Joseph's enters play with a 15-4 overall record (6-2 in the A10), winning 10 of their last 12 games.

Stealing The Ball

Coming into the week, La Salle ranked 69th nationally with 9.8 steals per contest, good for third in the Atlantic 10.

Next Up

The Explorers will make the trip to St. Bonaventure on Wedneday, January 29, with tip-off set for 6 pm.
