Olean, NY - The La Salle women's basketball team will travel to St. Bonaventure on Wednesday, with tip-off set for 6:00 pm on ESPN+.
The Emergence Of Joan Quinn
Freshman
Joan Quinn led the Explorers for the second consecutive week. Two weeks ago, Quinn earned Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors last week after leading the Explorers in points against Massachusetts and George Mason. She continued her strong play against Duquesne last week, picking up a 13-point, 12-rebound double-double, before scoring a career-high 23 points, the most by an Explorer this season, against St. Joe's on Saturday. Quinn was also the Explorers' leading rebounder with six rebounds and finished the game shooting 8-17 from the field and 6-7 from the free throw line. Her performances earned Quinn spots on the Atlantic 10 and Big 5 Honor Rolls.
Quinn has scored in double figures in four straight games and raised her season average to 9.2 points per game.
Starting Streak
La Salle has used the same starting five in four consecutive games, the second-longest streak with the same starters this season.
The Series
La Salle has won eight of the last 10 meetings against St. Bonaventure, including the last two meetings.
Last year, the Explorers earned a 75-71 victory over the Bonnies. La Salle leads the all-time series 20-16.
Connor Leads The Way
Redshirt Sophomore
Ashleigh Connor leads the Explorers with 11.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per contest.
Connor, who has scored in double figures in 12 of her last 16 games, is getting consistent production at the free throw line. Connor ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10 with 65 free throws on the season.
Crashing The Boards
La Salle outrebounded Duquesne 58-38 and came within three of the single-game school record for rebounds last Wednesday.
Graduate student
Mackenzie Daleba (11 points, 18 rebounds), and freshman
Joan Quinn (13 points, 12 rebounds) became the first pair of Explorers to record a double-double in a game since Shaquana Edwards and Amy Griffin against Massachusetts in 2018. Daleba became the first Explorer with more than 15 rebounds since Kayla Spruill in 2021 against Coppin State.
The Explorers rank 65th in the country with 13.3 offensive rebounds per game, good for fifth in the Atlantic 10.
The Magic Formula
La Salle is one win away from matching last year's win total. The Explorers are 5-1 on the season when scoring 65 points or more and 6-3 when hitting 23 or more field goals throughout a contest.
Stealing The Ball
The Explorers rank fourth in the Atlantic 10 with 9.4 steals per contest.
Scouting The Bonnies
St. Bonaventure enters Wednesday's matchup with a 5-15 record on the season and 1-8 mark in Atlantic 10 action. The Bonnies are 4-5 at home this season and have lost five straight games.
