Women's Basketball Hosts Saint Joseph's On Sunday

Philadelphia, PA - The La Salle women's basketball team will host Saint Joseph's on Sunday, January 5, with tip-off set for 2:00 pm.
 
Last Time Out
 
La Salle led 17-13 at the end of the first quarter, but it wasn't enough, as the Explorers fell 78-61 at Davidson on Thursday night. Both teams were knotted up at 7-7, but an 8-0 run gave the Explorers the early lead midway through the first quarter, before the Wildcats came back for the victory.

The Magic Formula

La Salle is one win away from matching last year's win total. The Explorers are 4-2 at the new John Glaser Arena this season.
The Explorers are 5-0 on the season when scoring 65 points or more and 6-1 when hitting 23 or more field goals throughout a contest. La Salle is 6-3 on the season when making 10 or more free throws. 

Newcomers Make The Difference

Newcomers are accounting for 74.5% of La Salle's offensive production on the season.

Quinn Emerges

Freshman Joan Quinn led the Explorers with 14 points against Davidson and is third on the team with 8.2 points per contest. Quinn has scored in double figures in two of her last four games after scoring in double figures twice in the first 12 games of the season.

Connor Continues To Impress

Redshirt Sophomore Ashleigh Connor is the Explorers' leading scorer on the season with 11.9 points per contest.
Connor, who has scored in double figures in nine of her last 10 games, is getting consistent production at the free throw line. Connor has connected on four or more free throws in four straight games and is third in the Atlantic 10 with 52 made free throws on the season.

Stealing The Ball
 
La Salle is 53rd nationally with 10.6 steals per contest, which is good for second in the Atlantic 10. Sophomore Aryss Macktoon leads the Explorers with 42 steals on the season, which is among the Top-15 in the country despite missing the last two games due to injury.
 
Macktoon recorded a career-high six steals against Northern Kentucky. 
 
The Series 
 
Sunday's game marks the 70th meeting between the two crosstown rivals. The Explorers have won three of the last five meetings at home against the Hawks. Saint Joseph's swept last year's season series.

The Explorers are 70th in the country with 13.8 offensive rebounds per game. 
 
Scouting The Hawks
 
Saint Joe's enters Sunday's game with an 11-2 record in 2-0 mark in Atlantic 10 action. The Hawks have won six straight games and most recently earned a road win at #RV George Mason.
