This Week In La Salle Athletics: Nine Teams In Action, Women’s Soccer Makes Playoff Push In Final Week Of Season

Here is a look of the action to come this week for La Salle Athletics, brought to you by Hershey's Ice Cream.

Women's Golf

On Monday and Tuesday, the Explorers will compete in the Red Flash Invitational at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, PA before participating in the Lehigh Invitational at Trump National in Bedminster, PA on Saturday and Sunday.

Senior Sydnie Leavery, who played in all seven events last season, will be making her season debut at the Red Flash Invitational today.

Men's Golf

On Thursday, the men's golf team will participate in the Big 5 Championship at Union League – Liberty Hill in Philadelphia.

Junior Gavin Dosch led the way at the Explorers' last event, shooting +5 through three rounds.

Women's Soccer

The women's soccer regular season concludes this week, with a home match Thursday vs. VCU at 6:00 pm, followed by a road match at Duquesne Sunday at 1:00 pm.

In last week's 2-0 win against Fordham, sophomore midfielder Ella Cadigan scored a goal and recorded an assist.

Field Hockey

Looking to extend their three game winning streak, the Explorers will take on undefeated VCU on the road on Friday, before returning home for a non-conference matchup with LIU on Sunday.

Senior goalkeeper Abby Boggs led the Explorers in their last game against Saint Louis, rejecting all four of the Billikens' penalty stroke attempts.

Cross Country

La Salle cross country will compete at the Haverford Invitational, which begins on Friday at 4:15 pm.

In the Princeton Fall Classic last Friday, the women finished in 13th place with a total of 379 pts, while the men placed 26th with a total of 646 pts.

Rugby

Saturday: La Salle hits the road to take on Mount St. Mary's in Maryland in the season finale. The Explorers are looking to build from a competitive day of three 10s matches against Army this past Saturday.

Men's and Women's Rowing

Over the weekend, both rowing teams will compete at their home course for the first time this season at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta.

Last weekend, each team competed in the Head of the Charles Regatta.

Triathlon

Saturday: La Salle commences the postseason portion of the schedule and will compete in the East Regional Championship in Charlotte, N.C. The Explorers anticipate sending six athletes to compete, including Sofia Nordbeck, fresh off an Ironman World Championship finish in Kona, Hawaii, on October 11.

Men's Soccer

La Salle men's soccer plays its final home regular season game Saturday, traveling to play St. Bonaventure at 6:00 pm.

The team won both of its games last week, winning 4-0 against Arcadia and 2-1 against George Mason. Junior midfielder Zach Forehand scored in both games and assisted the last-minute game winner in the game against George Mason.
