Box Score PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's lacrosse team fell to Duquesne, 14-10, on Wednesday despite a strong comeback effort. The Explorers surged ahead in the third quarter with a dominant 9-1 run, but the Dukes responded with a decisive finish to secure the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Duquesne opened the game with three unanswered goals before redshirt junior
Alana Lathan put La Salle on the board with six minutes remaining in the first quarter.
- The Dukes extended their lead in the second, going up 8-1 before the Explorers rallied late in the half. A four-goal burst in the final six minutes, highlighted by Lathan's first-half hat trick, narrowed the gap to 9-5 at halftime.
- La Salle carried that momentum into the third quarter, as junior
Sam Klein and Lathan combined for five goals to give the Explorers a 10-9 lead heading into the final frame.
- The dukes responded by shutting out La Salle in the fourth quarter while netting five goals of their own to seal the road victory.

- Lathan's six-goal performance propelled her to the top of the team's scoring list, with 15 goals through eight games.
