Lacrosse Drops Road Affair to Richmond

Box Score Richmond, VA – La Salle women's lacrosse dropped its conference road game to the Richmond Spiders Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The first quarter was all Spiders, as the hosts scored goals early and often in the frame.
  • In the following quarter, the home team recorded a couple more goals to build its lead.
  • Junior attacker Emi Waldron led the team in shots in the first half with three.
  • After halftime, freshman midfielder Tia Jack got the Explorers on the board.
  • With under four minutes left in the game, sophomore midfielder Kayla Norris added another for La Salle.
  • Senior attacker Ellen Stickney added one more for the visitors with 1:01 left in the game.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Jack, playing in her first ever collegiate game, scored her first La Salle goal with 4:08 left in the third.
  • Norris also recorded her first collegiate goal with her strike in the fourth quarter.
  • Senior goalie Brooke Nelson recorded her second straight game of making 10+ saves.
UP NEXT
  • The team prepares for its second conference game at McCarthy Stadium this season, playing inner-city rival Saint Joseph's next Saturday at 12:00 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
