Women's Basketball To Host George Washington On Saturday To Kick Off New Year

Philadelphia, PA - The La Salle women's basketball team returns to John E. Glaser Arena on Saturday afternoon for an Atlantic 10 matchup against George Washington.

Scouting the Revolutionaries

Despite coming off a heartbreaking last-second loss to St. Bonaventure on New Year's Eve, George Washington enters the matchup as one of the hottest teams in the conference, having won seven of its last eight games. The Revolutionaries have produced similar results against common opponents this season, dropping an early road contest at Temple before earning a recent win at Delaware.

Sophomore guard Gabby Reynolds leads George Washington in scoring at 14.9 points per game while shooting a team-high 43.9 percent from beyond the arc. Reynolds scored 16 points in the loss to St. Bonaventure, marking her ninth double-figure performance in the last 10 games.

All-Time Matchup

La Salle and George Washington have met 22 times since 2006, with the Revolutionaries holding a 15-7 advantage in the series. George Washington has won the last two meetings, despite 12 points from Ashleigh Connor in the most recent matchup.

Party Like It's 2-0 26

Following the win over Fordham, the Explorers are 2-0 in conference-play for the first time since the 2013-14 season. That year, the Explorers won their first four Atlantic 10 games and finished 9-7 to place seventh in the conference.

The Q Factor

The Explorers are undefeated this season in games where Joan Quinn scores in double figures. The preseason All-Conference selection is averaging 9.9 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.2 steals per game, each ranking top-three on the team.

Mo' Moses

Amiya Moses continues to make her presence felt inside, setting new career highs in points (8) and rebounds (5) in La Salle's win at Fordham. The freshman also pushed her team-leading block total to 17, as the Explorers are 7-1 this season in games where Moses records a block.

The Ki to Success

Kiara Williams put together a strong all-around performance in the win at Fordham, scoring 14 points, grabbing a team-high seven rebounds, and setting a new career high with four steals. La Salle is 3-0 this season when Williams records multiple steals.

Connor Keeps Creating

Ashleigh Connor has set new career highs in assists in three consecutive games, dishing out six against VCU, seven versus Penn, and eight at UMES. The redshirt junior ranks second in the Atlantic 10 in assists per game at 4.2, averaging more than an assist per game higher than last season.

AA Battery

Ashleigh Connor and Aryss Macktoon rank first and second in the Atlantic 10 in steals per game and are the only duo in the conference each averaging over 14.8 points per contest at 15.3 and 14.8, respectively. The Explorers are 3-0 this season when both Connor and Macktoon score at least 15 points.

Not in a Giving Mood

Aryss Macktoon has totaled 45 steals on the season, ranking first in the Atlantic 10 and top 15 nationally. Teammates Joan Quinn and Ashleigh Connor also rank among the conference's top 10 in steals per game, anchoring a La Salle defense that continues to apply pressure and force turnovers.
