Women's Basketball Travels To Hawk Hill To Face Saint Joseph's On Saturday

Philadelphia, PA - The La Salle women's basketball team heads to Hawk Hill on Saturday afternoon for an Atlantic 10 matchup against Saint Joseph's at Hagan Arena.

Scouting the Hawks

Despite a loss to Davidson in its last outing, Saint Joseph's has already picked up conference wins over Fordham and VCU and enters the weekend ranked sixth in the Atlantic 10, one spot behind La Salle. The Hawks were held to 36 points against Davidson, their lowest scoring output since the 2021-22 season.

Junior guard Gabby Casey leads Saint Joseph's in points (15.8), rebounds (6.8), assists (3.8), and steals (2.0), making her the only player in the Atlantic 10 to lead her team in all four statistical categories. Casey logged a season-high 39 minutes in the Davidson loss.

La Salle and Saint Joseph's have met 35 times since the 2005–06 season, with the Hawks holding a 27–8 advantage. After dropping four straight meetings, the Explorers have won four of the last five matchups in the series.

The Q Factor

The Explorers are undefeated in games where Joan Quinn scores in double figures. The preseason All-Conference selection is averaging 9.7 points, 2.9 assists, and 1.9 steals per game, all ranking top-three on the team. In the Explorers last trip to Hawk Hill, Quinn scored a career-high 23 points, making up over 44% of the Explorers' points in the loss on Hawk Hill.

Stealing the Show

Aryss Macktoon became the fastest Explorer in program history to reach 56 steals on Wednesday, overtaking Ashley Gale (2010-11) who reached 56 steals in 18 games. Macktoon's 56 steals ranks top-ten nationally and first in the conference. Teammates Joan Quinn and Ashleigh Connor also rank top-ten in steals in the conference.

15 + 15 = W

Ashleigh Connor and Aryss Macktoon make up the only duo in the Atlantic 10 to each average 15 PPG. When they each score 15+, the Explorers are undefeated, with wins over Loyola (MD), Lehigh, West Chester, and George Washington. The two each rank top-ten in points and top-five in steals in the conference.
